New month but still cough & cold season here. 🤧😷🤒 Growing up with Indian parents, we had two cough and cold medicine options: turmeric milk or turmeric lemon. For me the lesser of the two evils was the lemon so it baffles me that so many years later, it would be turmeric milk that would rise to having a cult following in cafés all over the world and take on the name Golden Milk. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Here’s the lesser known Ayurvedic “cure” for the common cold (read carefully to avoid unexpected results): 1. Cut lemon in half crosswise. 2. Place cut side up in a small ramekin, you may need to trim the bottom slightly so that it sits upright. 3. Sprinkle generously with sea salt. 4. Dust generously with turmeric powder. 5. Roast in 400 degrees F oven for about 20-30 minutes, the skin should be charred slightly. 6. Gently scoop out the pulp (which by now has turned to mush and looks like puke🤮), be careful not to burn yourself. 7. Eat while warm, try not to produce more puke. 🤢 8.
